What's Information Security like?

Are you a tech-savvy person? Do you want to help make Scotland safer? Study for an apprenticeship in information security and join a sector that’s committed to stopping cyber crime and theft.

The apprenticeship gives you an idea of how to protect personal data online. Learn to use protection software like firewalls and encryption programmes. Improve your understanding of data analysis and the best methods of keeping customer information safe. Discover how to develop new encryption algorithms and lower the risk of cyber terrorism.

Scotland’s information security industry has a variety of jobs on offer. Help to identify and neutralise threats as an information security analyst. Create and test new safeguarding software as a cybersecurity engineer. Become an information security consultant and work with different businesses to develop their data protection strategies.
