What's the qualification?
SCQF Level 7
You'll gain a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 7.
Your qualification includes:
Practical SVQ units related to supply chain management alongside core skills training
A range of work experience in the sector with the opportunity to learn from industry professionals
Supply Chain Management at SCQF Level 7
What will I learn?
During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:
Manage and complete import and export procedures
Analyse supply chain data
Negotiate and place orders with suppliers
Plan effective logistical operations to meet customer requirements
Assess supplier performance and capabilities
Create action steps for logistical improvements
You will also gain a set of valuable core skills:
Communication
Information and communication technology skills
Problem - solving
Numeracy
Teamwork
These transferable skills are applicable to a vast range of employment sectors including business, retail, ICT and transport.
Where could it take me?
There are many available pathways to further your career after gaining a Modern Apprenticeship qualification in Supply Chain Management. You can undertake higher-level study or enter the industry with your newly developed skills.
Further education: Develop your knowledge further by progressing either onto a Technical Apprenticeship course or into Higher Education. Relevant courses for this industry include the Level 4 Technical Apprenticeship in Supply Chain Management and degrees such as International Operations and Supply Chain Management.
Straight to work: Use your supply chain management qualification to become employed in the industry. Below are some examples of jobs you could do:

Entry requirements
There are no formal qualification requirements for this apprenticeship. However, you can increase your chances of a successful application by showing relevant previous experience, such as a work placement in a supply chain business. A National Progression Award in Supply Chain Operations at SCQF Level 5 can be valuable but is not essential.
How does it work?
You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider.
How long will it take?
This Modern Apprenticeship will take a minimum of 12 months to complete.
