What's Gas Engineering like?
In this apprenticeship, you'll have the opportunity to complete activities associated with the distribution of gas (“upstream”) to the fitting and maintenance of gas equipment within the customers’ property (“downstream”).
You'll gain a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6.
EAL Awards CBQ in Gas Engineering at SCQF Level 6
As part of your apprenticeship, you will achieve 5 different Work Place Core Skills at SCQF Level 5.
You will also work towards and complete a supporting qualification appropriate to you and the business you're in.
There are a range of options to pursue with this apprenticeship.
Further Study: Where appropriate, you may progress to higher level qualifications and/or higher-level work within the sector, for example to supervisory and managerial roles. You can also progress horizontally within the sector to complete qualifications or units at the same level relevant to your job role.
Straight to work: You could continue to work as current grass person in your current job role. Completion of this apprenticeship will allow you to continue to work as a competent craftsperson in your current job role.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this framework. However, the apprentice MUST be in a job role that supports the completion of the CBQ in the pathway they have chosen to complete and should be assessed as having the ability to complete all components of the framework prior to registration.
How does it work?
You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider.
How long will it take?
This Modern Apprenticeship will take 12 and 24 months to complete.
